What will be covered in this session

Dental practices face many changes and new challenges in billing insurance due to medical insurance involvement.

Whether the practice is adding new services, such as OMS or sleep-related services, or facing challenges with reimbursement on trauma cases and TMJ treatment, this course will familiarize the billing team on how to get paid by medical payors.

Procedures and coding systems in dentistry are evolving. This two-hour course will educate attendees on what is billable to medical carriers, medical procedural and diagnosis code sets, credentialing with medical payors, and Medicare’s mandatory filing requirements.

OBJECTIVES

  • Identify medical insurance involvement and coverage, including COB.

  • Review proper documentation and diagnosis reporting

  • Discuss solutions such as continued education, electronic medical submission, and when to consider outsourcing options.
